About GTMppl
I spent 20+ years inside EdTech revenue organizations. I built SDR teams, designed territories, restructured comp plans, integrated acquisitions, and reported to boards. I did all of it on top of institutional data that was never designed for selling.
Every EdTech company I worked with or competed against had the same invisible problem: the account data underneath their CRM was built on federal compliance databases (IPEDS for higher ed, Common Core for K-12) that were never intended for go-to-market execution. System offices, graduate schools, continuing education units, and governing bodies that control real purchasing decisions were missing entirely. Nobody questioned it because everybody was working from the same broken foundation.
I built GTMppl to fix that.
GTMppl is a GTM consulting firm built specifically for EdTech. I work with companies selling into higher education and K-12 to identify and fix the structural data and process problems that silently erode pipeline quality, inflate TAM, misdirect sales effort, and create territory conflict. The methodology is grounded in two decades of operating experience, not theory.
About Sean Gannon
I'm the founder of GTMppl, based in Boulder, Colorado.
Before starting GTMppl, I spent 12 years at Parchment in progressive sales and revenue leadership roles, scaling the company from $8M to $108M ARR. I was a key member of the executive team through the $835M acquisition by Instructure in 2024 and stayed on as VP of Sales Enablement to lead a 37-person global SDR team and oversee post-acquisition integration across 110K+ institutional accounts.
Prior to Parchment, I was VP of Sales at Starfish Retention Solutions (acquired by Hobsons) and held regional and national sales leadership roles at Presidium (acquired by Blackboard), Regent Education, and Convio (acquired by Blackbaud).
I'm an active mentor at StartED and Techstars EdTech accelerators, where I work with early-stage founders on go-to-market design, sales process, and pipeline strategy.
My approach is Sandler-trained, data-informed, and allergic to feature dumps. I believe the best GTM work starts with getting the foundation right: accurate market data, honest segmentation, clear ownership, and process that holds under pressure. Everything else is noise until those are in place.
How I Work
GTMppl is a solo practice by design. When you work with GTMppl, you work directly with me. There's no account manager, no junior analyst doing the work, and no handoff after the sale. The person who scopes the engagement is the person who delivers it.
Engagements are project-based, scoped by deliverables, and start with a Revenue Risk Review: a focused assessment of your account data, territory structure, and TAM integrity. From there, we decide together whether deeper work is needed and what it should look like.
I don't do open-ended retainers without defined outcomes. I don't quote work I haven't scoped. And I don't stay longer than the problem requires.
